Note: The Young Offenders Regulation 2004 allows six months for the completion of outcome plans, although the Director General does have discretion to allow additional time if circumstances are exceptional.

Youth Justice Conferencing referrals

Youth Justice Conferencing Referrals and Conferences chart This chart shows the number of Youth Justice Conference (YJC) referrals processed and the number of conferences facilitated.  In 2016-17, 1,244 YJCs were processed and 1,024 were facilitated. In 2017-18, 1,422 YJCs were processed and 1,101 were facilitated. In 2018-19, 1,374 YJCs were processed and 1,165 were facilitated. In 2019-20, 1,379 YJCs were processed and 1,104 were facilitated. In 2020-21, 1,393 YJCs were processed and 1,171 were facilitated.  

Completion of outcome plans

Number and percentage of Youth Justice Conference outcome plans completed chart This chart shows the number and percentage of Youth Justice Conference (YJC) outcome plans completed over the past five years  In 2016-17, 917 (87.5%) YJC outcome plans were completed. In 2017-18, 955 (90.1%) YJC outcome plans were completed. In 2018-19, 986 (90%) of YJC outcome plans were completed. In 2019-20, 998 YJC outcome plans were completed. In 2020-21, 1,021 (93.8%) YJC outcome plans were completed.
